The materials Zita Masley uses to create her art are 100% repurposed. They are obtained from the curbs of the neighborhoods close to where she lives--discarded construction materials, parts of furniture or home decor, fixtures, household items, toys, jewelry. The only store-bought materials are wood screws, glue, and acrylic paint. For a number of years, Zita Masley has been participating in juried art shows in Central Texas. One of her art pieces won the first place in Mixed Media category in 2018, and another one won the third place in the same category in 2019, both in juried shows in Temple TX. Since 2022, Zita Masley has been an active participant in art shows organized by Round Rock Arts and Culture--a non profit organization in Round Rock TX. She has shown her artwork in three galleries located throughout Round Rock-- Penfold Theater Gallery, City Arts Center, and Texas State University Round Rock Campus.
