PROSPECTUS
"Abstraction" is a Juried art show to be held at Ardest Gallery in The Woodlands, Texas, just North of Houston between July 29th-August 29th.
The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, August 1st between 6-8 p.m. with a presentation by the Juror at 7 p.m.
The Submission Deadline is Friday July 10th by 11:59 p.m.
Abstraction brings together a diverse collection of works spanning painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, digital media, textile, and beyond — united not by subject, but by the freedom to move past it. This exhibition celebrates the infinite ways artists translate emotion, experience, and idea into visual language unbounded by representation.
Whether bold or subtle, chaotic or meditative, each work invites viewers to look without searching for answers — and find something different every time.
All mediums and voices welcome.
The Deadline to apply is Friday, July 12th by 11:59 p.m.
GUEST JUROR- DEBORAH ELLINGTON
Deborah Ellington is an artist and educator with a career spanning K–12 and higher education, alongside an active studio practice. She holds degrees in Art Education from Albion College, an M.A. in Painting from the University of Michigan, and an MFA in Ceramics from Sam Houston State University.
Ellington has taught at all levels, including serving as a professor, department chair, and instructional dean within the Lone Star College system. She continues to teach fused glass workshops, sharing her expertise in design, color, painting, and mold making.
Her work is exhibited at Silver Street Studios in Houston’s Sawyer Yards, and she regularly participates in juried exhibitions.
"ART IN THE WOODS" AN OUTDOOR ART MARKET
Art in The Woods, an outdoor fine arts market, is held on the 3rd Saturday of each month during the months of October, November, March & April between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. just outside of our doors!!
The Grogan's Park community includes a number of wonderful family owned businesses, including a book store, clothing boutique, coffee house and fine dining restaurant. Grogan's Park is situated on the edge of The Woodlands, Texas, with easy access from I-45.
Artists will be juried into each market, space is filled on a first come, first serve basis and the fee for a 10x10 space is $65.
We accept artist applications on a rolling basis. Should you be accepted into the market, an invoice will be set to secure your space.
