I am a self-taught artist originally from Cuba, now working and creating in the United States. My work explores the intersection between nature, identity, and resilience through an unconventional and deeply symbolic medium: feathers. Feathers represent freedom, transformation, and the lightness that can coexist with strength. Integrating them into my canvases is both a technical and emotional process — a way of stitching nature into narrative. Each feather I use is ethically sourced and meticulously placed to become part of a visual story, blurring the line between the organic and the abstract. My compositions often evoke movement and emotion, inviting viewers to slow down and observe the details that are so easily overlooked. Being self-taught has granted me the freedom to break away from convention and follow my instincts. My work has been exhibited at RTown Gallery, The Gallery 8680, Bayou City Art Festival, Frisco Discovery Center Art Gallery, Seismique, and Spectrum Miami during Art Basel Week; as well as digital exhibitions including Mombo Art Gallery, Expometro Barcelona, Palm Art Gallery, World of Crete, among others. I’ve had the privilege of being interviewed by Voyage Houston Magazine and featured in the March edition of Artistonish, allowing me to share my journey and process with a broader audience. Feather art is more than a technique; it is a language. With each piece, I aim to speak to the human experience, to inspire reflection, connection, and wonder.
